Richard started his career in Corporate Finance at Deloitte with a broad range of experience in transaction services, financial due diligence and business valuations.

As an early member of the Uber NZ team, he spent 2 years as the General Manager, leading it through complex regulatory reform while setting up a sustainable business at scale across 7 cities, and growing the team from 6 to 40. Upon moving to Australia, he ran Uber Eats in NSW and ACT, including Sydney, one of the largest markets for Uber Eats globally.

Richard holds an LLB and BCom from Otago University and has completed the level 3 exams for the CFA Charter.

Michael started his career as a Civil Engineer at McConnell Dowell, before shifting to Management Consulting for PIP in Australia, with a focus on business improvement, cost reduction, sourcing, and due diligence across multiple sectors.

He was then the first operations hire for Uber in New Zealand, growing the business from launch. He then moved to San Francisco with Uber where he spent three years across multiple roles, with his final role being Head of Global Product Operations, Marketplace and Safety. After leaving SF, he built out the ANZ Marketplace Team for Uber.

Michael holds a BE(Hons) from the University of Canterbury.
